Original post: We are thrilled to announce that The Moth is coming to Vermont for a series of Story Slam contests in 2014!
The series kicks off on Tuesday, March 18 at the Skinny Pancake in Burlington. Guests are invited to prepare a five-minute story about a maiden voyage - your first kiss, first overseas trip, or any first time.
Show up at 7:00 p.m. to sign up to tell a story, volunteer to be on a judging team, or just settle into your seats and buckle up to listen to the show. At 8, the first storyteller will be picked at random and the show will begin. Each teller will have 5 minutes to tell his or her tale.
After each story, the judges confer, and give a score. The teller with the highest score becomes the StorySLAM winner and will compete at the next GrandSLAM Championship! You can learn more about how StorySLAMs work at .
