Classical music often gets a bad rap for being too stuffy and formal, but what if it didn鈥檛 have to be? VPR Classical is setting out to break down those walls with our new series of chamber music reading parties, Bach & Brews.
Think of it as a classical music open mic of sorts. We鈥檙e inviting classical musicians to get together in fun venues to read chamber music together while having a few drinks (if they want!) The result will be mini-chamber music concerts in unexpected places without all the formalities of a traditional concert.
Don鈥檛 play an instrument? That鈥檚 okay too! Feel free to come and listen and mingle as the musicians do what they do best.
Our first, of hopefully many, Bach & Brews event will be on July 14 at 6-9 p.m. in the lobby of Hotel Vermont in Burlington.
Musicians, please bring your instruments, a stand and any chamber music you鈥檇 like to play!
