Join us Thursday, Jan. 17 in VPR's for East Coast Latin dance music both traditional and modern. The New Voices Project showcases world musical traditions nestled in and around the Queen City.
Croatian vocalist Melita Sedic-Lawton will open up the evening and we'll be guided throughout the show by series curator, Bill Ellis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.

About The Performers:
Mal Maiz: Costa Rican "gypsy devil" and his Afro-Cumbia Orchestra are a hot East Coast Latin dance band with both a traditional and modern flair.
Melita Sedic-Lawton: Melita was born in Croatia, grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and moved to Vermont in 1994 because of the war. She has been living and working in Vermont since then. She sings different genres of songs in Bosnian, Croatian, and English. She represented Croatia at the Eurovision song contest in 1993, singing �.� When she established her life in Vermont, she continued to sing as a vocalist in the local a cappella band “Root 7.�
