Several national companies that offer small loans at high interest rates have agreed to refund money to more than one thousand Vermont borrowers. The agreement is the result of a lawsuit brought by the Vermont Attorney General against companies illegally offering what are called 鈥榩ayday鈥� loans. The Vermont House has taken a final, and resounding, vote to pass a bill that's likely to make Vermont the first state with a labeling requirement for genetically modified foods. Governor Peter Shumlin and legislators have honored the 19 Olympians with ties to Vermont who competed at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
