Linda Radtke
Music HostLinda Radtke, the host of the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Choral Hour, has spent many happy hours through the years in the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý studio, singing with Counterpoint and other choral ensembles, volunteering for pledge drives, and recording for the commentary series.
She joined ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý in March 2014.
A frequent alto soloist for the Aurora Chamber Singers and other regional groups, Linda has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and two Master's degrees from UVM. She is a founding member of Vermont's professional vocal ensemble, Counterpoint and has participated in all the recordings under their director Robert De Cormier. For the Vermont Humanities Council, she presents research on old Vermont songs throughout the state. Linda taught English for 31 years at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury, and enjoys life in an 1831 farmhouse in Middlesex with her husband, Dr. Robert Jervis.
Linda is passionate about classical music of all kinds, but has a special fondness for Bach, Handel, and Gilbert and Sullivan operas, in which she has played most of the mean alto ladies. She enjoys getting the word out about Vermont's vibrant choral scene and making new discoveries in the choral library at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý.
