Majestic landscapes are characteristic of Vermont, but the issues inherent in mangaging the natural environment are many.

Vermont's Agency of Natural Resources oversees a host of issues, from Lake Champlain cleanup to the management of lands and wild animals.  Wednesday on Vermont Edition, ANR Secretary Deb Markowitz will be our guest to discuss water quality, how her Agency is thinking about climate change, issues of forest fragmentation, and the sate's fish hatchery program.

Also in the program, clean water activist James Ehlers of Lake Champlain International explains what he thinks the state should do to prevent wastewater treatment plants from overflowing during heavy rains.

And, a very old organ seeks an organist. We visit the First Baptist Church in Burlington to hear the sounds of an 1864 tracker organ.

Patti is an integral part of VPR's news effort and part of the team that created Vermont Edition. As executive producer, Patti supervises the team that puts Vermont Edition on the air every day, working with producers to select and research show ideas, select guests and develop the sound and tone of the program.
Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý program Vermont Edition.
