There's a new, live-action movie coming out of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book." That work - and some of Kipling's other famous works like "Captains Courageous" and the "Just So Stories" - were written right here in Vermont: at Naulakha, the author's Dummerston home.
We're looking at Kipling, his writing, his happy Vermont years, and the scandal that led to him leaving the state. Also, how has Kipling's reputation changed over the years? How should we read his work now?
We're joined by Kelly Carlin, operations manager for , which owns and manages Naulakha, Rudyard Kipling's house in Dummerston. We're also joined by , professor of 20th Century English literature at the University of Kent in Canterbury.
