Trumpet player Wayne Jackson passed away on June 21, 2016 in Memphis, Tennessee at age 74. During a professional career that extended over 55 years, Wayne Jackson played horn on 52 chart-topping singles and on 93 gold and platinum albums.
This week, My Place explores the early years of Wayne Jackson of the Memphis Horns and features memorable vintage hit recordings by Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and others.

Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
