Influenza incidence is still low in Vermont, but is expected to increase until the season reaches its peak.

Flu season is just beginning, but brace yourself, because it's only going to get worse from now until we hit a peak in a few months.  We're talking about how the season is shaping up this time around, and how healthcare workers fight a continuous battle against a host of rapidly mutating influenza viruses.

We're talking to Christine Finley, who is  immunization program chief for the Vermont Health Department. And to Dr. Richard Enelow, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine.

Broadcast live on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 at noon.

Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý program Vermont Edition.
