Short-term rentals: A conversation about the pros and cons

Vermont has seen an increase in the number of short-term rentals in recent years, reaching close to 12,000 homes statewide in September 2023, according to the .

As Carly Berlin, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý and VTDigger's housing and infrastructure reporter, reported recently, more and more towns are grappling with short-term rentalsâ€� impact on the availability of year-round housing â€� and debating approaches for how to track and regulate them.

Chester Town Planner Preston Bristow, Killington Town Planner Lisa Davis Lewis, and Carly Berlin joined Vermont Edition to discuss short-term rentals.
