¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has won four national awards for its coverage in 2023 from the Public Media Journalists Association.

A new voice is keeping an Eye on the Sky: meteorologist Megan Duncan will create and produce forecasts beginning this month for the venerable weather service from the Fairbanks Museum and ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. Duncan is the museum’s first female meteorologist. She’ll join Mark Breen and Lawrence Hayes, taking over for Steve Maleski, who is retiring this summer.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has released two original short films by local content creators as part of its Made Here Fund, which aims to broaden and diversify Vermont storytelling. "Love of the Land" and "I Have Something to Get Off My Chest" are available now at vermontpublic.org, on PBS platforms and on YouTube.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý is one of seven stations across the country selected to receive training and production assistance to collaborate on StoryCorpsâ€� One Small Step initiative, an effort to bring strangers with different political beliefs together for a conversation—not to debate politics, but to get to know each other as people.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has been honored with five 2024 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for its journalism in 2023 from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has collaborated with the award-winning PBS science series NOVA for a second year to produce and distribute digital-first content as part of the seriesâ€� national Science & Society initiative.

The popular NPR program 1A will broadcast nationally live from ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý studios on May 1-2 from 10 a.m. - noon. The program regularly visits member stations around the country, as part of their ongoing effort to elevate the stories, issues, and perspectives of Americans. The show will be live from the Colchester, Vermont studios.

Mitch Wertlieb has been named permanent host of Vermont This Week, the station has announced. His first show will be Friday, May 10, 2024 at 7 p.m.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý and the Vermont International Film Festival present the 4th annual Made Here Film Festival, April 10-14, 2024. The five-day festival will feature 43 films by filmmakers from New England and Quebec, as well as panel discussions, workshops, special events and receptions.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý is teaming up with the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium to provide live coverage of the total solar eclipse, along with educational resources and experiences to help Vermont families prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime event on April 8, 2024.
