¿ªÔÆÌåÓý will expand the Brave Little State series Homegoings into an independent podcast beginning July 20. Hosted by journalist and musician Myra Flynn, the program invites listeners to candid and genuine conversations about race.

After nearly 17 years as host of the public affairs roundtable, Stewart Ledbetter has decided to leave the moderator’s chair. His final show will be Friday, May 26.

Carly Berlin will join ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý and VTDigger as a Report For America corps member in an effort to expand coverage of housing and infrastructure in Vermont.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has partnered with NOVA to produce and distribute two short digital films as part of the seriesâ€� national Climate Across America initiative. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý is one of 10 public media stations working closely with NOVA to create, share, and amplify solutions-oriented climate content.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has announced the first recipients of its Made Here Fund, an initiative to broaden and diversify storytelling in Vermont. Ten projects by content creators representing six Vermont counties will receive a total of $100,000 to produce pieces including short documentary and animated films, digital shorts and audio series.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has hired two local media leaders to expand service on digital platforms and reach a broader and more diverse audience. April McCullum will join the newsroom as Digital Editor. Michael Dougherty will take on the role of Director of Digital Strategy.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has entered into an agreement with Vermont State University in Lyndonville to purchase the license of its campus radio station, WWLR 91.5 FM. The station will serve the Lyndonville and Saint Johnsbury area with ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý’s 24-hour classical music network.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý and VTDigger have been selected by Report for America to host a journalist next year to expand the organizationsâ€� coverage of housing and infrastructure. In an unprecedented collaboration between two of Vermont’s leading news outlets, the new reporter will cover two of the most vexing challenges facing Vermont: the availability, affordability and condition of housing, as well as aging infrastructure that is no longer serving its residents.

Following a national search, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý has announced the appointment of Kari Anderson as Senior Vice President of Audience & Community.
