Saturday Matinee presents the Metropolitan Opera production of Strauss's bittersweet comic masterpiece, Der Rosenkavalier. The performances celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opera's U.S. premiere.

In this archival recording from the fall of 2014, Martina Serafin sings the role of Marschallin, with Mojca Erdmann (Sophie), Eric Cutler (Italian Singer), Hans-Joachim Ketelsen (Faninal) and Peter Rose (Baron Ochs).

Edward Gardner conducts.
