The's 50th Anniversary Season culminates in two concerts this weekend. To celebrate, VPR Classical hosts will speak with some of the musicians involved in this weekend's festivities.
On Friday morning at 11 Walter Parker will speak with past and present directors of the VYO. Troy Peters conducts an orchestra of VYO alumni in Finlandia by Sibelius as part of Sunday's concert. Current director Jeffrey Domoto will lead the VYO, VYO Chorus and members of the music community in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
On Wednesday morning at 8 Kari Anderson speaks with fellow VYO alum and composer Tim Woos, who has written a piece for the orchestra and chorus to be premiered at Sunday's concert.
