Mount Philo is Vermont's oldest , and now Vermont's Agency of Natural Resources wants to hear from you about the park's future. Located in Charlotte, the park is dominated by Mount Philo, a 968-foot peak with views of the Champlain Valley and New York's Adirondack Mountains.
The Agency of Natural Resources says the park is popular for camping, hiking, dog walking, sledding and snowmobiling. A 2010 land gift brought Mount Philo State Park up to 232 acres.
The State is in the midst of updating the park's . An ANR press release states:
The planning process began in 2012 with resource inventories which identified natural communities, rare, threatened and endangered species, forest cover types, unique wildlife habitats, rare plant communities and other ecologically sensitive areas. Recreational, cultural and historic land uses were also mapped.
Now planners want to hear from members of the public who use the park. They've created an to gather . Survey responses will be accepted through April 6.
