A squadron of Vermont Air National Guard F-16s is landing in Burlington today after a three-month deployment supporting the coalition forces fighting the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Returning with the fighter jets Wednesday are about 25 guard members, according to an official news release. The deployment was part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
The rest of the roughly 300 guard members deployed in early December and are expected back in Vermont soon.
