Update 11:11 a.m. This morning the U.S. Senate held a cloture vote to close debate regarding U.S. Supreme Court nominee , which advanced on a vote of 51-49.
All senators voting. Kavanaugh advances 51-49. Murkowski the only R voting NO. Manchin the only D voting YES

While it was not the actual confirmation vote, Friday's procedural vote was a key step in moving the process forward. This weekend is when the final U.S. Senate vote on Kavanaugh's nomination is expected to take place.

A final vote on his confirmation is expected over the weekend.
The procedural vote was scheduled to take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, and prior to the vote, select senators delivered remarks on the floor.
