Townshend Elementary School is among the four schools in the West River Education District delaying in-person classes this fall for preventative HVAC maintenance in response to COVID-19 concerns.

Brattleboro Reformer reporter Chris Mays spoke to VPR about one southern Vermont district undergoing preventative HVAC maintenance in response to COVID-19.

West River Education District is planning to upgrade heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems to ensure healthy air quality, and in-person education will likely be delayed until mid-November.
