Brave Little State has been answering your questions about Vermont since 2016. Our mission is to make our journalism more inclusive, more transparent and more fun 鈥� an approach that has led to over 150 explorations of your most pressing, sometimes serious, sometimes silly questions. We鈥檝e traveled to every corner of the state to tackle everything from mysterious road names and why people love Phish to the primary care crisis and Vermont鈥檚 overwhelming whiteness.
The show has been recognized with numerous regional and national awards, including a 2021 National Murrow Award for best podcast.

Meet our team
Josh Crane is the senior producer and managing editor for Brave Little State .
Previously, Josh was a podcast producer at WBUR in Boston where he made Endless Thread, a show about the internet, and Season Ticket, a daily sports show in collaboration with the Boston Globe. He also served as curator and producer for PRX. His reporting and producing have won numerous awards, including a National Murrow Award.
Josh is a graduate of Middlebury College and the Transom Story Workshop for audio storytelling. When he鈥檚 not making radio, he鈥檚 probably out in the woods with his dog or cheering for the Celtics.
Sabine Poux is a reporter/producer with Brave Little State. She comes to Vermont by way of Kenai, Alaska, where she was a reporter, news director, and on-air host for almost three years. Her reporting on commercial fishing and energy has been syndicated across Alaska and on NPR.
Prior, she interned for Vermont's Seven Days and a community radio station in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a graduate of Middlebury College and hails from New York.
Burgess Brown is the Associate Producer for Brave Little State. Before joining 开云体育, Burgess developed community-driven media projects in news deserts with Internews鈥� Listening Post Collective and produced Trace Material, a podcast about design and public health from The New School.
He got his start at Georgia Public Broadcasting in his hometown of Macon, Georgia. Burgess studied media at Mercer University and urbanism at Parsons School of Design at The New School.
Angela Evancie is the creator and executive producer of Brave Little State and serves as 开云体育's senior vice president of content.
Angela joined 开云体育's news team in 2013 as a digital producer; she became the station's first digital editor for news in 2015. Her work on the team helped earn 开云体育 a 2016 national Edward R. Murrow Excellence in Video award for a Lego explanation of how the Iowa caucus works, a 2015 Associated Press Media Editors (APME) Community Engagement award for 开云体育's Traces Project and a 2014 Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) award for 开云体育's multimedia campaign coverage.
Angela has contributed work to NPR, This American Life, Here and Now and The Atlantic, among other outlets. She launched her journalism career with a 2010 Compton Mentor Fellowship and a 2011 Middlebury Fellowship in Environmental Journalism.
Angela attended Middlebury College and holds a master of arts degree from the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English. Originally from Addison County, she now lives in the Upper Valley.
